In July 2023, we published our second anthology, To Live Here. It´s a collection of haiku on the theme of home, which explores the many facets of human experience, from the mundane to the sublime. Featuring the work of talented poets from around the world, this anthology invites readers to reflect on the beauty and complexity of the world we inhabit. The original illustrations throughout are by Scottish artist Colin Thom and the foreword is written by Bruce H Feingold. All proceeds are donated to the charity Salford Loaves and Fishes in the UK, who support the homeless, isolated and vulnerable in Salford and the surrounding area.
This publication was curated and edited by Katherine E Winnick and Giorgia Di Pancrazio. Katherine is an internationally published Japanese short form poet, originally hailing from the United Kingdom. Having spent her formative years in diverse and culturally rich environments in the Third World, Katherine draws inspiration from her unique upbringing to craft captivating works of poetic expression. Her evocative verses resonate with readers across borders, bridging the gap between cultures and emotions. She is also the Founding Editor of the Shadow Pond Journal, and she currently resides in Brighton, UK.
Katherine chatted to Patricia McGuire about the anthology on an episode of Patricia´s wonderful podcast, Poetry Pea. You can listen to their conversation here. Katherine read out some of the haiku from the anthology and also paid tribute to poet Brendon Kent, who sadly passed away recently. There are details in the show notes of this episode about how you can order a pdf of Brendon´s collection Navigating Moons, with all proceeds going to the cancer charity Macmillan in the UK.
So far we have raised 600 pounds for Salford Loaves and Fishes. You can order a paperback copy of To Live Here via Amazon here or download a pdf copy via our Buy Us A Coffee page here.
