Episode 27 - Jane Hanson

In this episode, Claire chats to poet and artist, Jane Hanson. Jane is co-editor and curator of The Wee Sparrow Poetry Press´ fourth anthology, Facing Goodbye. She also designed the beautiful cover art for this collection. All proceeds go to the International Rescue Committee

The late, great Benjamin Zephaniah and the phenomenal Margaret Atwood were Jane´s choices of well-known poets who she loves and is inspired by. Jane read out Atwood´s poem It´s Dangerous To Read Newspapers.


Jane is originally from Yorkshire in the UK but has lived on the island of Ischia in Southern Italy for a number of years. She is an English teacher and enjoys writing and painting too. Her other passions are tennis, yoga and swimming. She is a nature and animal lover and looks after her home and numerous pets, all strays. Her creative activity is often aimed at supporting charitable causes.
