We invite poets to respond to this wonderful artwork by Chris Barras.
Emily Tee, the judge and editor for our challenges, will read all the poems submitted and select one winner who will receive a Wee Sparrow Poetry Press notebook of their choice. Emily will also choose a selection of poems to be featured here in our newsletter. It is free to submit to each challenge, with the option of making a donation via our Buy Us a Coffee page here.
Submission Guidelines
Submissions open 25th September to 16th October.
Poets are invited to submit one poem per challenge by email to theweesparrowpoetrypress@gmail.com. Poems must be 20 lines maximum (not including the title). In the subject line please write "Ekphrastic Challenge + Chris Barras" and include your poem in the body of the email (no attachments) along with your full name as you would like to see it published, and your country of residence.
Poems which do not follow these guidelines, do not relate to the artwork or do not adhere to our inclusivity statement will not be considered.
Poets who have participated in previous challenges are more than welcome to submit again.
Happy writing!
